Carleton Farms Landfill has a set of existing conditions that can be re-configured into a new order. The very basic premise of this project is to extend its lifespan tenfold.

By incorporating several industries into one (mining, water well, incineration, power generation and waste management) and exploiting the existing idle context, we could presuppose a 300 year

schedule of continuous active landfill operation. The end-product will not be a landscape treatment of the capped surface. Instead, there will be layers off complex voids and tunnel networks

underground, establishing a leftover city that constructed itself over the active lifetime of the landfill.

incineration reduced 94% of the original mass. when systemetically burnt down, one is left with more room to store garbage.
